Sakrisøy Stormy Vista

Sakrisøy Stormy Vista
The yellow huts of Sakrisøy, a small island in Norway's Lofoten Islands archipelago.

Sakrisøy is one of the most picturesque villages in Norway’s Lofoten Islands. Most of the houses are painted in the distinctive yellow colour produced by a mix of ochre and cod liver oil, giving a real ‘pop’ to the vista.

For me this image sums up so much of the Lofoten experience with clear sky being quickly replaced by an impending storm looming over the distant peaks, while crystal clear water laps at the village shoreline.

We found a great vantage point, and while we had to hurry as we could see the storm coming, I feel the resulting image was really worth getting a little wet.
