Gibraltar Falls
Gibraltar Falls is a beautiful waterfall near Canberra in the Namadgi National Park. Namadgi makes up almost half of the total land of the Australian Capital Territory, and is a great national park with many great hikes, stunning scenery and some great dark skies for nightscapes.
These beautiful falls are actually quite dangerous, and people have died entering the pools above the falls. Unfortunately, two deaths within a few days in early 2023 have closed the falls to visitors until further notice. I captured this image in 2020 and had gone back a couple of times before their closure. It’s a shame when people place themselves at risk unnecessarily.
